Announcement of CommunityWise Annual General Meeting 2014

 

CommunityWise Resource Centre's AGM is coming up Thursday, May 8th in the main Common Room. 

 

The meeting will take place from 6-8pm, with socializing and music until 9pm. We will be filling four board positions! Watch for more details soon.

Viva Equinox!

Equinox Vigil in Union Cemetery is a creative, respectful event to celebrate our deceased loved ones and the natural cycle of Life and Death itself.  So come raise a glass, enjoy some tasty treats and fine entertainment and help make Equinox 2014 a reality.

Do you have an idea you would like to share? Are you looking for ways to get involved in the community? Are you interested in educating people about your work? 

Next Up and CommunityWise are co-hosting the second annual Community Connection. This is a public, popular education event to bring together community groups, activists, educators, and those interested in creating progressive change. Let's build networks, share stories, generate new ideas and opportunities for collaboration, and support for new ideas. *Please register at:

Non-Profit Industrial Complex Series 

PART 3 (of 3)

March 24th: 6-8pm 

CommunityWise Board Room

The 'What's Next?' skill share and popular education series is hosting a three-part discussion inspired by the book The Revolution Will Not Be Funded: Beyond the Non-Profit Industrial Complex. Each session will look at one chapter of the book (readings are provided). Discussion #3 will take place on March 24th. Open Streets Calgary Joining Forces 2014!

What could the community achieve if there was more cooperation between organizations? Through collaboration and facilitation we aim to raise awareness about all the various pedestrian, cycling, and other alternative transportation programs that are currently in action within this city.

Repair Café at CommunityWise!

March 29th: 2:30-6:30pm

CommunityWise Common Room 

Wondering what to do with that wobbly kitchen chair, or that lamp that keeps flickering, or that pile of clothes that need mending, don't throw them away! Bring them to Repair Café Calgary! We will have skilled volunteers available to fix your household items. More information: www.repaircafecalgary.org.

Meet outside of Admin Office #101

Year-round, CommunityWise depends on the generous contributions of volunteers. On this day we are organizing a full afternoon of volunteer activities to help organize and maintain the centre and we could sure use the help. Come by and have some fun. Meet other awesome members of the community and help this "little centre that could" with a little TLC. Variety of opportunities available for the afternoon.
