CommunityWise Members Memo – July 2015
1. Welcome Dheny Rivas to the Staff Collective!
We're excited to welcome Dheny to the Staff Collective for the summer through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Dheny is studying social work at the University of Calgary. She'll be playing a lead role in implementing our 2015 CommunityWise Member Survey, so you can expect to hear from her over the next couple of months!
2. Important construction announcement for all members
Starting on July 15th redevelopment of the front yard will begin. Tree removal and heavy landscaping will begin as early as July 20th. This City of Calgary project will continue throughout the summer. Once complete, the front area will be entirely re-landscaped with mosaic tiles, brick walkways, seating, and more open space.
We understand that this construction will cause some disruption and apologize for the inconvenience and problems this may cause. Maintaining your ability to continue to access the building for your important work is our utmost concern. Front door access to the building will be maintained during the project, however parking access in the driveway will not be possible.
Updates on the progress of the project will be shared with members. Communicating this information to members of your communities would be greatly appreciated.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact CommunityWise staff.
3. NEW DATE Lunch n' Learn – Wills: Everything you should know but were afraid to ask – Wednesday, July 15 – Board Room – 11:30am-1pm

4. SAVE THE DATE! CommunityWise Members Night – Tuesday, August 25
We're doing another Members Night! Pizza, socializing, and performances from two of our members! Also a way for CommunityWise to hear from members about how to make this building even better for everyone. Watch out for more details soon. The plan is to start around 6pm.
5. In need of volunteer support?
CommunityWise is often approached by people looking to volunteer in the building. We'd like to be able to better connect them with member organizations looking for volunteers. If you've got an opportunity, please contact email@example.com.
6. Have you heard about CommunityWise's Asset Mapping Project?
Thank you to those who have participated! CommunityWise is working to map out the collective resources, knowledge, and skills that exist within the membership in the hope of increasing opportunities for collaboration between members. We're using an online form to gather responses from as many people/organizations as possible. We hope to eventually open this data up to all our members in a searchable form, giving everyone a chance to more easily connect with available resources, knowledge, and skills that may be of assistance in resourcing your work.
