CommunityWise Members Memo
1. No parking in front of the dumpster on Thursday mornings please!
The dumpster bin is back in use which means there can again be no parking on the parking pad on Thursday mornings to allow for dumpster truck access. And if you’re looking for the dumpster key – it’s back on the hook in the photocopy room.
2. CommunityWise casino fundraiser is May 15/16 – volunteers needed!
Volunteers are needed for all positions for our casino fundraiser on May 15 & 16 at Cowboys Casino. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and funds raised go toward keeping our building operating and ensuring that our 100+ members can continue to access affordable space. This is one way that members can fulfill their annual volunteer contributions to CommunityWise. Please contact email@example.com to sign up!
3. CommunityWise annual survey
CommunityWise is currently conducting our annual survey to collect information about who is using the building and why. The results will be shared with all member organizations and are useful for funders and for improving our operations. CommunityWise staff, in collaboration with University of Calgary Development Studies students from the Centre for Community-Engaged Learning’s Community Service Learning program, will be administering the survey throughout February and March. Your participation is greatly appreciated! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
4. Please leave a note when parking in the driveway
Members parking their vehicles in the front driveway are reminded to please leave their phone contact information on their dashboards. Drivers must be prepared to move their vehicle for others to get out at any time.
5. Room 207 now available as a relaxation space and for evening bookings!
Room 207 on the second floor of the building is now available for evening bookings ($10). The room is also available on a drop-in basis during the day at no charge for people looking for a quiet place to relax. This room replaces the previous TreeHouse Oasis that was located in room 310. Members will have an opportunity to help name this space. Watch out for more details shortly!
6. Welcome Jian!
We are so pleased to welcome Jian Hong to the CommunityWise Staff Collective. Jian has joined us in the position of Finance Coordinator and comes with great experience to share with us. Say hi when you have the chance!
7. Welcome Leticia and Josh!
