April 2015

1. CommunityWise’s Members Night (featuring free pizza!) – Tuesday, April 14 – 6-8pm

All members are invited to this special event. This will be a fun, social, and engaging evening. CommunityWise is looking to hear from members about how to make this building even better for everyone. For more info, or to RSVP, email contact@communitywise.net, phone 403-261-9661 or visit us in the admin office!

2. CommunityWise casino fundraiser is May 15/16 – many volunteers still needed!

Volunteers are still needed for key positions for our casino fundraiser on May 15 & 16 at Cowboys Casino. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and funds raised go toward keeping our building operating and ensuring that our 100+ members can continue to access affordable space. This is one important way that members can fulfill their annual volunteer contributions to CommunityWise. Please contact erin@communitywise.net or visit the CommunityWise admin office to sign up today!

3. CommunityWise Annual General Meeting – Thursday, May 21 – Common Room – 6-8pm

All members please mark your calendars for the CommunityWise AGM coming up May 21. Anyone interested in joining the Board of Directors for 2015/2016 should contact us at contact@communitywise.net, phone

403-261-9661 or visit us in the admin office!

4. Cycle tracks installation

In a couple weeks the new Cycle Tracks network will begin to be installed. A dedicated and separated bike lane will be created along 12th Avenue. Once complete, paid parking along the south side of 12th Avenue, including the handicap parking spot and including the area in front of CommunityWise, will be eliminated. Non rush hour parking will be available on the north side of the street. Should you have any questions, comments, or concerns about this project CommunityWise encourages you to speak with CommunityWise staff or contact 311.

5. No parking in front of the dumpster on Saturday mornings please

The new garbage pick-up time is Saturday morning which means that there can be no parking on the parking pad on Saturday mornings to allow for dumpster truck access.

6. The next Burnout Prevention League is Wednesday, April 8 – Common Room – 12:30-1:30pm
