Annual General Meeting and 35th 
Anniversary Celebration – May 8, 2014, 6-9pm


All members are invited to send at least one representative of your organization to participate in the AGM and election of the 2014 – 2015 Board of Directors. 
Friends, family and community are all welcome to share in the good company and refreshments (it's a potluck!), featuring the CommunityWise House Band and celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Old Y Action Groups (predecessor to the CommunityWise Resource Centre).

Sharing Stories of Calgary – 'Stories of Spirituality'

Chinese Cultural Centre 

Experience Mexican culture in all its splendor – with live music from Banda Brava and Gisela Romero, folk dancing from Viva Mexico Dance Company and Viva la Danza and delicious food from Los Sabores Restaurant.

Elder Service Corps Invites CommunityWise Members to Lunch

CommunityWise Common Room

The CommunityWise Elder Service Corps team will again be serving up a light lunch to CommunityWise members. The theme of this lunch is "success." Celebrate the successes of Elder Service Corps participants, departing practicum students, and members!


Calgary After Vandana….What's Next?

CommunityWise is co-hosting this discussion to explore the local relevance of themes that arose from Dr. Vandana Shiva's recent talk in Calgary. Local food policy, eco-feminism, environmental justice, and more.

Decolonize & Anti Oppression Workshop

May 6th: 6:30-9:30pm

CommunityWise Common Room

Co-hosted by CommunityWise and the Calgary Centre for Global Community and facilitated by Tami Starlight. Will include discussion about colonization from an indigenous context within Canada; anti-oppression terminology investigation and circle discussion; community organizing, meaningful solidarity building, conflict resolutions and orizontal group/community structures.

Join in the next meeting of the Burnout Prevention League! Feel free to bring your lunch, breakfast, coffee, snack etc. This is a low maintenance, come-as-you-are kind of thing.
