AROC Working Group

Are you interested in working on Anti-Racist Organizational Change (AROC) with us? We invite you to be part of the AROC Working Group!

The purpose of the Working Group is to unlearn racism while facilitating organizational change together.

Organizational change is about reviewing and modifying management structures and procedures. For example, making changes to policy, hiring practices and governance.

Anti-racist organizational change is about making those changes in a way that intentionally addresses structural racism and creates greater diversity, inclusion, and equity.

This working group is focused on CommunityWise organizational change. Member representatives and wider community are welcome and invited to participate, but the process we are developing is specific to CommunityWise and its member organizations.

The Working Group will work collaboratively  to identify challenges and opportunities for anti-racist organizational change, design recommendations (e.g., policies), and assist with dissemination of deliverables. 

Working Group Application Process

  2. If you feel you fit the criteria and can comply with the Terms of Reference, please email equity@communitywise.net to express your interest in participating in the Working Group

You can express interest anytime before January 15th, 2017. We will respond to emails as we receive them.

Please note: The Working Group is focused on just that—working on anti-racist organizational change. While learning about anti-racism and growing our skills and knowledge in this area is a necessary part of the work, it is not our focus. If you would like to learn more about anti-racism, you can join the CommunityWise newsletter (by emailing equity@communitywise.net) to stay informed about upcoming trainings, as well as opportunities to get involved in AROC outside the Working Group.
